Filter Builder

The Filter Builder section is a feature that allows store owners to create and manage product filters, helping customers easily navigate and find products based on specific attributes.

The goal is to build a filter with a URL parameter to filter the products on the collection page. Ex:

https://success-demo.myshopify.com/collections/living-room?filter.v.price.gte=600&filter.v.price.lte=1000&filter.p.tag=Sofa+%26+sectionals

Explanation of the URL above:

Step 1: Choose a department = Choose a collection = Living room

Step 2: Choose a category = Filter by "tags" attribute = Sofa & Sectionals

Step 3: Choose a price range = Filter by price range = min: 600 and max: 1000

Setting Up the Filter Builder Section

1. Navigate to the Theme Editor: From your Shopify admin dashboard, go to Online Store and click on Themes. Find the Success theme and click Customize.

2. Configure Filter Builder: In the Theme editor sidebar, click "Theme Settings" then navigate to Filter builder config:

1. Configure Filter Builder Menu: This needs to be previously created in the Shopify admin area, under "Content" and then "Menus":

The first menu item, 'Price range,' will be used for filter builder step 3:

Another parent menu will be used for filter step 1:

All child menu items will be used for filter step 2 (for each parent menu selected in step 1):
